The Environmentl Protection Authority has just moved into their new offices in the ANZ Tower on Wellington's Lambton Quay, and the initial feedback from the staff is fantastic. We welcome the EPA to thier new home, and hope they continue to enjoy their bright, fresh and exciting new offices.
After 20 years on Thorndon Quay in the handsome Woolstore, we decided it was time for a change, and have moved to new offices in Classic House on Murphy Street. The shift gave us an opportunity for a fresh fitout and to design a workspace that reflects a changing collaborative environment.
Today marks the one year anniversary of the death, in a climbing accident on Mount Ruapehu, of our friend and colleague Paul McLauchlan. Originally from Hertfordshire in England, Paul arrived in New Zealand in 2008. He worked on a range of projects, including residential, commercial and education jobs. Paul was the Project Architect for the historic Eastbourne Bus Garage restoration project, which was completed just weeks after his death. A bronze plaque has been installed on the building in his memory.
Practical Completion for the second stage of the Vogel building refurbishment was achieved by Mainzeal's team recently, marking the last significant milestone in the redevelopment of the Vogel Integrated Campus. This project for AMP Capital Properties has reinvigorated a tired MoW office building, complimented with a bright new atrium and a new office annex providing office space with very few columns in the workspace.
Housing New Zealand National Office Wellington fitout has just been completed. 350 staff from three different buildings have been relocated into four floors in Wellington’s CBD. Names of suburbs throughout New Zealand was applied to the walls and glazing to provide a link for the national office staff to the communities they serve. Spaces for informal meeting and collaborative working were created to improve connectivity between departments and provide a variety of work environments.
CCM recently worked with Hutt Hospital on an innovative scheme to construct a clip-on temporary operating theatre suite while the Hospital built its new theatre complex. This project enabled the client to save cost in rental of external facilities, and provided an asset which could be on-sold at the end of the theatres’ useful life.
