Queenstown Airport - Further Expansion

The passenger growth at Queenstown Airport has continued at approximately 14% average p.a since the new Terminal was opened in 2007.

CCM Architects have been involved in a series of major extensions in recent years to manage the demand, and all in accordance with the principles established in the original design.

A masterplan concept for the growth in the next 20 years has been agreed, and the ongoing design work by CCM is aligned with this, and the growth strategy for the Airport.

CCM oversaw the construction of major extensions for the International Departures area, and reconfiguring all internal border security processing areas.

The domestic lounges, toilet facilities and main cafeteria areas were also being planned to double in size. All this work was undertaken whilst the Airport continues operations unaffected.

CCM was sole Architectural consultant engaged from briefing through to completion.
