Canterbury University Masterplan
CCM Architects and McIndoe Urban, Isthmus Landscape Architects, Stoks Limited and Rubida Research (Educational Planners) were engaged to review the existing campus and provide a masterplan and strategy for the growth and renewal of the campus over the next 20 years.
The original campus built in the early 1960’s has grown significantly over 50 years and has now lost the clarity of the original design.
Although set in a beautiful garden setting the campus’ heart has been slowly eroding away.
Extensive consultation with all University faculties, Facilities Management and many associated stakeholders took place.
The Masterplan explores how the campus can develop with guidelines and ideas on what interventions are required to breathe more energy back into the campus.
